Lead by example, Transformation winner, cardio &more

Hey team!

Ohhh weren't we so lucky to have a taste of summer on Monday, 31 degrees and it was all smiles around Scarborough.

This weather is really telling us to start training or stick to it and make more goals!

It's great to be doing our warm ups outside again and having the roller doors up during training to let in that fresh air.

It won't be long now before we can start training outside once daylight hangs around a bit longer.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of training years 6, 7 and 8 students from St Marks in Sorrento for their Wellbeing Day. What a great opportunity for the students to have the 'day off from classes' and spend time on their wellbeing. They got to participate in a variety of activities from dance, drumming, IT and fitness.

I had a whole year cohort (at once.... yes that's 150+ kids!) come along and do a body weight program with me whilst listening to some cool tunes. My aim was to show them that exercise can be fun and that's important to move their bodies in order to stay fit, healthy and strong.

They were such a delight to teach and I was thrilled that they enjoyed it, so much so that many thanked me afterwards. That was a huge tick off my goals, if I can show just one child/teenager that sport and/or fitness is fun... then I've done my job.

In order for us to 'teach' our children that fitness is important to our bodies, we as adults need to lead by example. Kids are like sponges, they watch, absorb, process and then they will usually give it a go. Telling your kids to go out and do some exercise whilst you are sitting on the couch just doesn't work, so get out there with them and BOTH of you will benefit from it.

It's not just about fitness either! The time that you take out of your day and go for a ride/walk/swim/surf/skate or whatever it is you do with them, you are giving them your undivided attention, you are chatting together and making memories in the process.

Whilst I'm on the topic of kids, there maybe some of you that have teenagers that are prepping for upcoming exams. They maybe stressed out from school, teachers, assignments, deadlines and the general work load. It's a really tough time for them!

Try and encourage them to do some exercise ( a 20 min walk will be just fine!) everyday, it helps clear their mind, refocus and to just chill a little. Help out with having their meals ready (and plenty of it... they need good healthy nutritious brain food!) and make sure they are getting enough GOOD sleep!

Go out for coffee on the weekend with them, talk about totally useless stuff, it doesn't matter that you're not talking science or maths ..... it's about taking the time to listen to them, laugh, chill and reconnect. All these little things will help in the long run.

If you have a teenager at home that wants to come to bootcamp with you (even if it's just for one sessions!), please bring them along, no need to ask me, just turn up!

Winner, Winner!

This week we finalised the weigh ins and measurements for the 4 Week Transformation Challenge and I must say.... we've had some fabulous results.

Our winner this time round has upped her game in training, quit sugar and has really done an amazing job.

Sally who attends our 6am sessions has dropped over 3kgs, nearly 2% body fat and lost 6 cms overall ..... all in 4 weeks!

Spring Transformation Winner!

She says she's feeling so much better from quitting sugar and is feeling fitter and stronger!

Sally also teamed up with a friend on the no sugar challenge, which I think is a great idea, it keeps you accountable with each other, motivates you and helps you stick to your goals.

Our runners up were:-

Carlee, Craig and Darryl!

These 3 bootcampers have too taken this challenge seriously and their results definitely reflected that.

Carlee lost 1.6kg, 1.5% body fat and 4cms in total

Craig lost 1.3 kgs, 1.3% body fat and 4cms in total

Darryl lost 1.3kg, 1.1% body fat and 4cms in total

Well done guys, I'm super proud of you all, such great results!

Now everyone has to stay on track and then get ready to amp it up a bit more for the next Challenge coming in October.

I know that the silly season is fast approaching, but that doesn't mean you start to let it all go now!

So in saying that I will be running a 6 Week Transformation Challenge commencing the 14th October!

It will finish 21st/22nd Nov (weigh ins on Thurs/Fri sessions)

If you missed the last one, make sure you sign up for the October Challenge.... it's the last one for the year!

It's only *$150 for the whole 6 weeks and free for all our members.

*new clients only

Grab a friend and do it together, as training with mates is always fun!

Friends that train together stay together!

Get your running shoes on!

Cardio at Scarborough foreshore is starting up again in Oct. The sessions will be every Saturday at 8am sharp and they will run for approx 4-6 weeks.

It's $15 per person, no experience necessary!

You don't need to be fast, you just need to get started!

This is a great way to smash out your transformation even more!

Please register your interest and I will send you further details.
